Disasters generate huge amounts of stress and loss.
Survivors can be supported in their resilience through proper application of the Psychological First Aid Disaster Response Model.
Indiana has an innovative Mental Health Disaster Response structure in place that can provide local partnerships, training, and support in times of crisis.
This workshop will emphasize the importance of psychological response in the aftermath of disasters. Using true stories, video clips and audience participation modalities, participants from all disciplines will understand the need for psychological response, gain a basic understanding of the value of the Psychological First Aid Model, and learn where and how to access skilled clinical support in the event of widespread crisis.

This workshop is appropriate for helpers from all disciplines and at any level
