Session 1: Overview of Employment Law for Managers
 

The employment law overview class will cover an overview of the following topics:

  • Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, including religious discrimination, pregnancy discrimination and harassment
  • The Age Discrimination in Employment Act ("ADEA")
  • Retaliation
  • The Americans with Disabilities Act ( "ADA")
  • The Family Medical Leave Act ("FMLA")
    Fair Labor Standards Act (wage and hour)
    Indiana's statutory employment laws (i.e., the Indiana Civil Rights Act and wage payment statutes), and employment-at-will.  


Target Audience:

Managers, Supervisors, and those new to HR. This session should help make them aware of the laws that might apply to their employer.
