  The ASPIN Behavioral Health Network serves over 5000 behavioral health clients involved in the criminal justice system annually and therefore  understands the unique issues related to effective behavioral health treatment with
ex-offenders.  The social service professional must possess clinical expertise, community knowledge, and insight into ex-offender evolution, attitudes, and needs.  To address the needs of social service professional assisting ex-offenders with transition ASPIN has created several dynamic training opportunities:

 
logo  Addressing Behavioral Health Issues of Transitioning Ex-Offenders  
Objectives:
1. Learn chronic offender origins, attitudes, and patterns.
2. Understand addiction as a treatable progressive biological process which occurs in a social context.
3. Gain insight into how issues of gender and poverty affect needs and behavior.
4. Understand characteristics of effective programs and best practices for case management.
5. Utilize tools for assessment and engagement.
logo  Children at Risk: Meth Contamination Issues and Procedures
Objectives:
1. Understand the historical forces and decisions which brought us to the methamphetamine epidemic of today.
2. Gain insight into the addiction/dependency process relative to meth.
3. Learn the process and chemicals involved in producing meth.
4. Follow the psychological, physical, and societal effects of meth addiction.
logo  The Psychological Development of Criminal Offending for Social Service Professionals (Coming Soon)
Objectives:
1. Learn how criminogenic behavior evolves.
2. Gain insight into the behavior and attitudes of offenders.
3. Look at the status of re-entry today.
4. Understand the challenges faced by ex-offenders as they reintegrate.
5. Learn principles of effective intervention with ex-offenders.
 
logo  Effective Addiction Treatment for Transitioning Ex- Offenders (Coming Soon)
Objectives:
1. Review the origins and progression of offending behavior.
2. Understand typical distortions, patterns of social interaction among offender populations.
3. Gain insight into brain development, structure, and functioning which predict impulsive behavior.
4. Learn current theory of biological addiction and the influences of social contexts on the process.
5. Learn principles of effective intervention for addiction and antisocial behavior.

Cost 

Members: $75.00 Affiliate and Panel Providers: $125.00 Non-Members: $150.00
(Per Module)

  • Upon receipt of payment, students will be  assigned a username and password to log into the elearning server.

  • Students will be able to access the web content 24-7.

  • Students will be sent a copy of the student manual in PDF format via their registration email

  •  Students will be given 31 days to complete each full module.

  • The estimated completion time is 3 hours per full module.

  •  4 CEU’s will be awarded per full module 

  • Upon completion of 4 full modules, student will be awarded the certificate of completion

  • A high speed internet connection is required (DSL minimum)  

  • A modern web browser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox is required to view the pages.

  • Students MUST have an individual email address
