ASPIN ANNOUNCES The NEW
Online Clinical Practice Program !
The ASPIN Online Clinical Practice Program addresses critical skill areas that Behavioral Health workers need to perform such as supervision, advocacy, addictions, mental health, the law, and more.
 
Incorporating Smoking Cessation into Treatment
Learning Objectives:
1. Become knowledgeable about smoking statistics in regard to our population
2. Learn about the effects of smoking on psychiatric medications
3. Discuss the economic/social impacts of smoking on our clients
4. Review why our clients smoke
5. Discuss myths and facts surrounding smoking cessation
6. Explore important treatment considerations
7. Learn proven treatment methodologies

 
Substance Abuse and Addictions:  
Learning Objectives:
1. Learn the basics of brain chemistry
2. …and the substances of abuse
3. Identify the roles of case manager in the recovery process
4. Become familiar with compulsive behaviors and related mental illnesses (gambling, food, sex, water, tobacco)
5. Learn to identify substance abuse and addiction issues in special sub-populations (various age groups and sub-populations)
6. Develop a repertoire of referral resources

 

Working With Resistant Clients
Learning Objectives :
1. Develop understanding of resistance to change and motivational stages.
2. Explore relationship between resistance and cultural or socio-economic status.
3. Review principles of recovery and empowerment.
4. Increase comfort / confidence in the use of influence with clients who may be resistant to change.
5. Increase skill in intervening with resistance via interactive activities.

 

Practice Evaluation:
Learning Objectives:
1. Become knowledgeable about foundational skills and workplace competencies
2. Review the tasks of case management practice
3. Explore the ways adults learn
4. Identify ways to demonstrate and evaluate competence in performing skills of case management
5. Improve skills in giving and receiving feedback
6. Identify developmental stages of team functioning, and encourage growth.
7. Learn to use coaching and influence to assist in developing supervisees

 
Client Advocacy:
Learning Objectives:
1. Identify ways of improving access 
2. Discuss recovery principles 
3. Learn to influence attitude change 
4. Review resources for policy change

2. Explore valuable leadership qualities; and identify personal strengths and growth areas

5. Build skills for working in systems: collaborating, negotiating, planning, creativity.

Cost:

Members: $40  Affiliate and Panel Providers: $50  Non-Members: $75 (Per Module)

Upon receipt of payment, students will be assigned a username and password to log into the elearning server.

Students will be able to access the web content 24-7.

Students will be given 30 days to complete each full module.

The estimated completion time is 2 hours per full module.

 2 CEU’s will be awarded per full module


Indiana Professional Licensing Board
The Indiana Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist and Mental Health Counselor Board has approved|
this organization to provide Category I Continuing Education for L.S.W., L.C.S.W., L.M.F.T., and L.M.H.C.
