Forensic psychiatry is a sub-specialty of psychiatry; it encompasses the interface between law and psychiatry. This class will explore multiple aspects of the interface between Behavioral Health and the Legal System. This course it an overview, providing basic information of use to caseworkers, case managers, social workers, treatment specialists, probation/parole officers and supervisors. Dr. Hilton is the Medical Director for Hamilton Center, in Terre Haute. Dr Hilton graduated from Terre Haute South Vigo High School, and Indiana State University and attended medical school at the Indiana University School of Medicine. He is board certified in general child and forensic psychiatry as well as addiction medicine and completed his residency in Psychiatry at the University of Kentucky. Prior to joining Hamilton Center, Dr. Hilton also served as Medical Director of Evansville Psychiatric Children’s Center and Staff Psychiatrist at Southwestern Indiana Mental Health Center.
