Summary: Indiana has a complicated but rich Medicaid community support benefit for both children and adults that provides services and resource development in order to assist those who are seriously mentally ill or seriously emotionally disturbed to live as independently within their community. The complication comes from the fact that the services are made up of three (and possibly more) distinct services with different content, required credentials and payments. Medicaid sees these services as quite distinct and, especially because of payment differences, is concerned that services be documented, coded, and billed appropriately. The following program is intended to assist direct service case managers and their team leaders or supervisors to understand the differences between these services, how to plan for their provision, and how to clearly document and code the various combinations of services that make up this benefit. These sessions can be taken individually, but it is recommended that students attend both sessions. |
